Dr. Reis, Professor of Pediatrics and Clinical & Translational Science, has been a Pitt Med faculty member for over 30 years. During this time, she has served as a valued educator and mentor for medical students in a variety of roles, including Pediatric Clerkship preceptor, clinical research mentor, FAST advisor, and Clinical Skills Preceptor. Her contributions have been recognized with the 2020 Golden Apple award and the 2025 Donald S. Fraley Medical Student Mentoring award.
In 2018, Dr. Reis was appointed to serve as the first Assistant Dean for the Learning Environment, a part-time position. When Dean Shekhar created the Office of the Learning Environment, Dr. Reis was promoted to Associate Dean, which allows her to dedicate herself full time to supporting SOM students and educators.
